Actuators

piston actuators

Our piston actuators are used on all types of rising stem valves including gate valves, globe valves, and rising stem ball valves. We offer both pneumatic actuators and hydraulic actuators in spring return and double acting varieties depending on the failure mode specified. See an Actuator in Action

  • Springs

    Spring

One unique feature of our spring return actuators is the high quality springs that we use in the actuators.

These springs are pre-compressed and welded into a sealed spring cartridge at the factory for safe, maintenance-free service.

This is a unique ATI design feature that no other manufacturer takes into consideration. This design minimizes the overall height of the assembly. It is also a safer design because the compressed spring is fully enclosed making it tamper proof.

  • Think Thrust

    Valve Automation Coupling Device

Think thrust not torque! At ATI, a common question that arises is, "What kind of torque do your actuators generate?" They don't. Many people think that since a valve has a hand wheel that turns, the actuator will have to turn to operate the valve. The hand wheel is a device that simply raises and lowers the valve stem.

Once the hand wheel is removed, our linear actuators fasten directly to the threading of the valve stem and simply raise or lower the valve stem by pulling or pushing. This up down motion is known to us as thrust. All of this is made possible by our custom designed coupling device as shown in the picture.
